Now, more than ever, we feel the need to
travel and discover breathtaking landscapes, even better if in good company. And for that reason the
destination wedding is increasingly trendy.
However, you must not necessarily choose an exotic destination. We assure you that few places in the world have the charm of our beloved
Tuscany: the rolling hills of
Chianti and
Val d'Orcia, the breathtaking
countryside, the spectacular
cities of art, the refined and
elegant lifestyle, the luxury of
exclusive locations and the fine
wines famous all over the world.
We have been organizing wonderful weddings in this spectacular land for over 25 years and we know every detail to let you live an unforgettable experience.
If you are convinced to get married with a destination wedding but you still have doubts regarding the etiquette of this type of event, below we anticipate some of the main issues in this regard:
1 - Who is in charge of paying for the guests' stay?
The bride and groom do not necessarily have to pay for travel and accommodation for their guests; it is important to provide several different types of accommodation. It would not be at all courteous to impose a single very expensive option of stay, embarrassing the guests. You can also consider booking a villa to accommodate everyone.
2 - How can we help our guests to organize their trip?
It would be nice to provide all the useful informations such as nearby hotels, major airports, taxi contacts, etc. You could also make a website for your wedding, where your guests can find everything they need to know to plan their trip.
3 - How much in advance should I invite guests?
Since this is a destination wedding it is better to send the invitations well in advance so that people can have enough time to organize their trip. If the trip also includes flights, it would be ideal to send the “Save the Date” at least 10 months before the wedding.
4 - How can we make our guests feel welcome and pampered?
First of all, it would be nice to provide one or more additional events such as a welcome dinner or a brunch the day after the wedding (in our previous article we told you about this, click here to read it!). In addition, you can provide welcome boxes in theme with the destination, maybe a bottle of Chianti wine, a box of the famous “Ricciarelli” from Siena, or a set of cosmetic products from “Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella”, established in Florence in 1221.
